July 22, 2018 at 2:19 am #19597The drawings are not that good, just a guide to model the 3D, or to lay things out, but the major inconvenience is that i do not have a scanner and I sketch on paper. (I have a tablet but I never use it). Sometimes I take pictures to use them in Blender, but the lighting looks awful.
By the way, did you guys check the poll I put in the stream, talking about the new RR weapons?

How close do you think you are to making a public test pre-Alpha of the RR game project and as if your last stream how can you give an estimation on how close we are to an early access beta?

September 10, 2018 at 2:15 pm #19911Here is an estimation, please do not take it as final because i’m trying to avoid the most pressure I can. The 4 Early Founder Editions should be out for sale in 3 month.
These early access editions will help fund the cloud services and other major operational costs.
The other 4 more affordable editions will be out as a second wave when more game features are completed.
I would like to have the Founder (incomplete) editions ready for the end of the year.
High ranked members and big supporters will be rewarded with a certain Founder Edition on a case by case basis. :D

September 11, 2018 at 12:13 am #19919Depending on the availability and budget I will try to choose cloud services half way, in the middle America, to reduce the ping from both sides, or in the east coast to serve Europe better depending on the demand from that end. Also every scene will run as a separated server instance, so when you phase jump from the Tyranika scene to go to the Rgiant scene you switch servers.

October 4, 2018 at 12:33 pm #20136The Rgiant Mendeleev [Elements Recycling machine] will have an extended Periodic table, to include exotics+. The elements default layout is my own (my take on the groups). But I’m also including the conventional Periodic table because I want to keep the educational value of the game. All the traditional element data is actual. And any fictional, Sci-fi or theoretical info will be marked.

October 5, 2018 at 10:29 pm #20138I still need to do lots of testing, so I don’t know how many instances of the server we will need, I mean depending on the amount of players and the resources and budget, more servers will run in parallel. But the plan is to have squadron bases of 16 players, these bases are annexed to the main spaceport. Players will have the option to move their hangar to join a specific squadron, but the system will have a level of bureaucracy (the EB unit) and some limitations (to be established) to avoid constant changes and waste of resources. Anyway, the hangar is your safe-house, from there you phase-jump to Tyranika (or any other available sector) where other players will be battling raiding looting building etc. Every sector is a different server, and the bases will be multiple servers.
Rgiant is highly experimental… and crazy xD

November 4, 2018 at 12:21 am #20379Yeah, lots of system wise optimizations, mainly on the multiplayer side. It is nothing new to me, but every new feature needs to be integrated with the previous ones and broadcasted to the server. Multiplayer architecture or networking a game is the most complex and important part of a game, it involves advanced logic, packet optimization, prediction, security and a lot of testing, that’s why most games go single player at first, or in some cases forever, because it is very hard to get it right, fast and reliable. Besides that I’m extending the paint and decals system into the building system and fixing bugs left and right.
